I am a certified Yoga Teacher. I received my Yoga certification through The Sierra Center for Yoga Studies with Swamimi Bhavani Gerard and Richard Valdez. I teach three Yoga classes a week. Two are in the evening in Cameron Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays upstairs in a lovely loft above Headlines Hair Salon. The third class is held Saturday mornings upstairs above the wonderful Placerville Natural Foods Coop. Come join us!

I teach a unique, fun and high energy style of yoga that incorporates elements of Vinyasa and Kundalini (descriptions of each style are listed below) that allow for much more movement and freedom than traditional, "fixed-pose" yoga classes. The continual movement will also provide you with an added cardiovascular benefit, increased muscle strength and tone, improved endurance and flexibility, stress relief and an improved mood! All of my classes are designed for an immediate "feel-good-all-over" benefit and are easily adjusted for your skill level, from beginner to advanced. One try and you'll be hooked!

Vinyasa - Vinyasa yoga is often faster paced, and the postures are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with breathing. The continual movements, from one pose to another, allows for an incredible cardiovascular AND strength training workout. Vinyasa also offers much diversity. The pace can vary and each class is different every time.

Kundalini - Kundalini Yoga incorporates specific breathing techniques that intensify the effects of the poses with the purpose of freeing energy in the lower body and allowing it to move upwards. Kundalini is one of the more spiritual types of yoga. The Kundalini is untapped energy (prana) at the base of the spine that can be drawn up through the body awakening each of the seven chakras. Full enlightenment occurs when this energy reaches the crown chakra at the top of the head. Kundalini can be very physically intense. This type of yoga appeals to those who are up for both mental and physical challenges.
